There isn't any thermostatic switch on that genset.

The prime solenoid is connected directly across the start solenoid.

A little is good. Any more is too much.

Thanks for the reply. This is my understanding please correct me if I'm wrong. When the solenoid goes in it gives it more fuel . So on a cold start it doesn't need as much fuel because the air is denser. And if the solenoid engages I'm flooding out. So screwing out the red knob should improve my situation

Are you sure this regulator came originally with your generator?

The gen has 150hrs looks bone stock, I wouldn't think it's something, that's been changed or added

Does your generator have a remote switch inside a camper or trailer? If so, I know on at least the gasoline models of your style of set, you would push the STOP button BEFORE starting and it would prime the gasoline system. Look at your regulator primer button and have someone push the stop button on the remote. See if the solenoid engages. You might just want to disconnect it and if you need to prime the system, just push the button manually.
