[QUOTE=keeper;1100627]Hello
Just an update on the DJB .I decided after being encouraged by the posts on these boards to go ahead and completely restore the controller. It took some time but I managed to acquire all the components I needed which included all four of the rusted relays ,the rectifier ,resistors and the switches. I cleaned up the Emg (lop) relay, the internals were clean and everything seems in order but, I'm concerned about the corrosion of the heating element . The relay is a 320a104 with a circuit board attached containing a micro switch ,which apparently is only used to send a remote alarm. I have to test the thing someow . I don't want it to come back and bite me if the coil fails .Any help or advice here is welcomed. The deeper I get into this machine the more I come to appreciate it's quality. They really don't make anything like this anymore. I managed to mouse proof the housing with the 1/4 inch screening as was suggested .The sheets provided by Doug proved especially helpful as was all the advice and help provided on the posts .There is a lot of work here but I'm having a little fun too. Thanks to all. Jim[Keeper- I'm wondering where you found all of the components for your controller rebuild? Were you able to find original Onan or did you go with something else? As you can see from the pictures I have the same problem. Thank you. Model # 6.0 Djb-18r/16654aa Serial # L75 099 1810]

The board on back of the 104. Is for remote alarm. Not needed unless you want a remote alarm. Just use the main section.

We were talking about your DJB in http://www.smokstak.com/forum/showthread.php?t=148676 Couldn't read serial number from pics that well, looks like I was off one digit on serial number so the build sheets in this link are likely wrong.

Was the injector pump attached?

Think I'ld start by checking the windings for cuts from mice , before I spend money on anything else.

Check winding resistances for opens.

Should be able to by-pass all the controls for a test run. When engine runs keep the sheet metal on it , it directs cooling air over engine fins. There likely is a performance test where you can disconnect AC voltage reg and energize field with fixed DC voltage, run engine and check output voltages. That's how you check the $$$$ windings in Onan NHE types.

I have been replacing the "open relays" with plug in relays & bases from Allied Electronics. I do not have a "D"J set (yet), but I think they have 1 more relay or maybe switch for the glow plugs.

Do a search here for "Allied Electronics", I think I have posted numbers for relays & bases several times. Be aware that one of the relays has a 6V coil on it.

I found the numbers in my files, attached below. You can also find the start / stop switch, pre-heat switch as well as terminal strips here all for a fraction of OEM parts. http://www.smokstak.com/forum/album....pictureid=4354 a picture of a converted JC (not DJC) control box can be found here, as well as "before" pictures.
