Snow is falling right now in the Corning / Painted Post, New York area. Just light snowfall.

Update on R-12 Freon discussion and my promise to donate 50% if I can sell it here since several folks were interested in the Freon (see the information by clicking on the following link ->

There were no takers for the Freon for several reasons.
Reason #1 is the logistics for shipping the Freon including risks and cost.
Reason #2 is after I cleaned the tank and reweighed it on my charging scale, I am embarrassed to say that the tank weighs only 12lb 6oz, not 23lb 6oz as was marked on the tank. The marking on the tank was back from 1995 and I do recall from my dim memory I did an AC job back in 2009 on a car requiring R-12, but I did not log it on the tank. I must have done 1 or 2 more jobs before 2009 that I honestly do not remember doing. I checked the tank/valve for leaks using my ultra sensitive CFC sniffer and absolutely no leaks detected. I lowered the price to $10 per lb of Freon and knowing that the tank weighs about 6lbs empty I was only charging for 6 lb 6oz for a total of about $65. I really hoped to sell it here to make a donation to this site no matter how big or small in $$.

My plan now can be either to throw the tank back into storage for another 23 years or throw it on CL for a local buyer. I will try CL. I will still keep my promise and if I sell it on CL locally, I will donate 50% of the sale.

I attached 2 pictures below showing the R-12 tank on my scale. What a disappointment.

Update to my Update:
I listed it on CL. Here is the add (see link below). As promised, if I can sell it I will still donate 50% of the sale to this website.

Update: It appears that R-12 is going for $30-$35 per pound on Ebay. I see there is fake R-12 compatible Freon being sold on Ebay and is not the real-deal. I will sell my 23 lbs can for $345 plus shipping which comes to $15 per pound. I will donate $172.50 to the SmokStak site if I can sell it here. I don't care if the buyer is EPA certified or not.... My R-12 has been in my storage for 23 years and will sit another 23 years if I don't do anything with it.

Wish you were closer. I have a 30 lb tank each of R-12 and R-22 that I'd like to weigh. I could pay you for the use of your scale with a special coffee cup for all that java you drink while satisfing your Green Disease cravings.
