Default Leroy-Somer capacitor

I have a Leroy-Somer light tower generator. A loose connection on the capacitor melted the solder and the spade fell off. I was able to repair it and it made it through the storm outage. The capacitor is 70uf, 450 volts. Can I use any capacitor with these specs or should I buy one of the regulator capacitors, the ones I've seen are about $100.

Just make sure it is a "run" capacitor and not a "start" capacitor. I have done this a few times with caps from the HVAC supply and it always worked so far.

just make sure the voltage rating & uf are the same. you use a higher voltage. but keep the uf's close. like birken said it has to a run cap. there usually silver metal cans.get them on ebay pretty cheap.
