Another one on my list! Amazing how such a modern looking tractor can look even older with the steel wheels. Just think that this beauty was sold during height of the hostilities in the U.K. and Europe.

Anyone have any idea how many Farmalls with steel wheels were sold in the U.K. or on the continent?

Thanks for posting!

One of the best looking H Farmalls I have seen in some time!
I was recently bored to pieces by an exited owner that had his H professionally painted with a big bucks high grade finish.
He would not shut up about it....yours looks much nicer than his just the way it is. Nothing beats a well kept original that somone continues to care for!
The wide front and steel is a bonus also.
Thanks for photos,
Tony

Very nice. Makes me want to get to work on one for myself. I have a 1940 I wanted to paint but after seeing yours I may have to re-think.

thanks for all the good comments, when i first got the tractor it was red rusty and thought about painting it but after covering it in deisel & hydraulic oil mixed the old paint started to come through. so kept covering in deisel & hydraulic oil. part of the original regestration number can still be seen on the front. so glad now i didnt paint it.

My great uncle bought a 1942 Farmall H new during the war. It was on steel. He hated those wheels because it chewed up the ground everywhere he drove. He wanted to switch to rubber but he had to get a permit first to prove he was doing enough farming. After getting the permit, he had to find rims and tires, which was difficult to do. Eventually, he found a pair in Lansing, Mi. An outfit came out and installed them on the farm. They lasted the life of the tractor.
