Default Fairbanks Morse z mixer 6hp

Fairbanks Morse z 6Hp fuel mixer pick up tube.
How does the copper line attach to the hole in the needle valve. Solder? It appears to be a replacement valve but never got hooked up due to the fact there is no fuel tank. Ordered tank today.

There should be a 1/4 OD copper line that goes into the fuel tank. There should be a check valve on the bottom. They will hang by the fuel line about 1/4" above the bottom of the tank, to keep the line from sucking up debris and water from the bottom of the tank. Depending on model, there may be a second supply that the fuel nozzle is attached to. This is an anti-knock water supply that mixes water with the kerosene when the engine is heavily loaded. It will have a seperate valve, at a right angle to the main fuel valve. It is not nescessary if you run on gasoline only.

And before you solder it, be sure to put the tank cap ( 1/4" hole in center on the copper tube before soldering.
