Default Wisconsin VG4D1 on Kohler Generator- Nat Gas to LP

This very low hour Kohler 15 RMY genny with a Wisconsin VGF4d1 will not start- It was set-up for Nat Gas and I purchased a new regulator to run it off of LP- But it ties to start and then very quickly dies. I did not change the carb orifices as it was stated that the Nat Gas Carb does not need re-jetting- But I am questioning as to whether that is true- Seems that the regulator lets way too much gas pass. paid for an expert to come out- But no luck- just said that maybe my orifices were still set for Nat Gas- so much for the expert opinion___ HELP Needed!

Post some pics so we can see your setup.
Mine has this demand regulator, carb and pressure regulator. There is a mixture adjustment on the demand regulator.

Really getting lost here-I cannot figure how to post- just reply-
There is no button to"Post" and no explanation- so I can only reply- so....
I think I was sold the wrong regulator and cannot find info to get this POS to run- engine just fires for a split second and then dies-

"Reply" is exactly what you want to do. Don't start a new thread for the same subject each time you post.
You say that the "... regulator lets way too much gas pass..."
You should not have gas flowing freely. The first stage (Pressure) regulator brings tank pressure down to a usable level Somewhere around 8" - 12" water column, I believe.
Then there should be a Demand regulator that only allows gas to flow when there is suction on the line (Thus, Demand).
If you do not have both of these regulators, then you need to do more research on the subject. There are many people with knowledge on the installation and operation of LP / NG fueled engine systems here on the 'Stak that can guide you.
Ask lots of questions. Be patient. Above all, stay safe!
And provide pictures. Lots of pictures.
