Default AB 33 Magnet Charging

I am working on a AB33 and was wondering how to best charge the magnets. I have charged them and am getting about a 1/32" spark but it is not enough to jump a spark plug gap.I suspect the magnets are not charged properly because the armature was rewound and the points have been set. I can get a big spark if I place the mag on the charger and turn it on. I have heard that it is best to charge these magnets on the mag and have tried that. I was wondering how to properly place the magnets on the charger, do I place them by length or width across the charger.Any information would greatly be appriciated.

Thank You

Just wanted to let you now I got the mag to spark across the spark plug, I charged the magnets separately then placed them on the mag. I would still like to know how everybody else charges these type magnets.

Thanks
