Default NHE conversion to gasoline?

I have a 6.3 NHE-FA/63753P
S/N C980715974

We use it in our motorhome on weekend at the dragstrip. During the summer, we may need the air con 24/7, and there is no way for us to carry enough propane to make it through the weekend. So I would like to switch to gasoline, or tri fuel ideally. But I can deal with gasoline.

I think a 146-0665 carb will work, and has an auto choke. But I am not sure it will work, and I don't know about other parts that I may need for the conversion. Should I be considering tri fuel? What is involved?

I sure could use some advise and good direction from some of you experts!

How about a couple 100 lb. tanks? don't take too much room to haul.

I have considered that. But it is a general pain in the rear to refill frankly. I work more hours than the propane place does. So I can't go there. The trucks don't much like to fill smaller bottles because the fill slowly and are harder on the big pump on the truck...so I am told. And they don't get real excited about coming WEEKLY to fill two 100 lb tanks. Now gasoline I can get myself. Not reliant on them showing....or not showing. I live in the sticks, so my options are a little limited. Propane generators are generally a DISASTER for drag racers. If I hadn't found such a great deal on this one, I would have passed it up for one with a diesel generator.

You must be a Cordova drag strip guy so do you remember seeing a couple Pintos running propane a few years ago The 2 door was my brother and I have the Pinto Ranchero (Pinchero) Black and silver.
Hope to be back racing again soon and with a couple hundred extra pony's

Butch

I am but sorry I am not familiar with the mentioned cars. When our classes aren't running we are often busy prepping our rear engine bracket car or the jr dragster. So we miss a lot of the other classes.

We can so much easier carry a longer fuel supply in less room with gasoline. So this is a project with some interest here

Maybe someone can confirm?

Hard to look up part numbers. Might help if you tell us what it's off of.

I don't see that one listed for the gas models of that year. Now, that doesn't mean it won't fit.....it may.

I can't remember what it is off of except it was definitely an NH series with the carb off to the side like all the newer ones. It will definitely fit the junker 6.3NHDFB that I have here. The one that it is off of had the older style electrics as I recall. It has the altitude adjustment on the bowl.

It probably was an NHE that it came off of, one of the early ones maybe.
