Default Wooden maytag washer with upright engine

I picked up this washer a while back. It came without an engine so I purchased a nice upright at a show. There is no # on the legs of the washer but the engine is # 91789. I'm not a maytag guy so Looking for info on the engine and washer.

Your washer is a model 44. It and the model 43 were identical except for the wringer. the 43 model had a wood wringer. The model 43 went back to around 1915 and ended production in February 0f 1924. Your machine with metal wringer was built sometime between 1921 and 1925. Either model 43 or 44 could be bought for most of this period 1921 thru 1924. They also came with either battery ignition or magneto type ignition. Though most of the model 44 washers were magneto ignition. Most of this era records were lost to a fire at Maytag. You can find some information on the Maytag Collectors Club web site. Also you can find source of decals for the washer their. If you want to really get into it they have books available on the wood tub washers and the Maytag gas engines. But serial numbers are not available as such. Some reference to serial number is shown that has been made up from shipping records but it is not complete. Eli Weyerts listed as source for decals may be able to help you with more information.
