Default Maytag Wooden Wash Machine with Upright engine Project

Well A friend of mine has an option to buy this Maytag Wooden Wash Machine with the original engine for $700. Dose this seem to be a good deal I have not seen it yet other than these pictures. It looks to be pretty complete. He has asked if I would restore it. I think it would be a fun project but I am wondering more about the wood? Has anyone tackled one of these and were you able to save the wood or dose it usually need replacing? Some of the curved and tapered tub wood look like they would tricky or need to be made special. Any comments and help are greatly appreciated.

The engine alone probably is worth that, if it is all there and in good shape! As long as the wood is not rotted, a simple sanding and a good coating or two of a good varnish, should have this looking pretty!

I wouldn't hesitate to buy it for that. From the photos, it looks quite restorable.
