Sleeve valve radial! Wow! Has a certain lumpy idle note when pulled all the way back.

I still love it when the Air Zoo brings the B-29 in for the summer. I always try to be working in the shop on days when I know it is flying, as it will almost always fly near and I get to marvel at the sound.

When the B-36s flew over our farm at very high altitude, the sound was like nothing else that I ever have heard and all six of those Pratt & Whitney 4360s left vapor trails. An experience to never be repeated.

the b-36 pratt and whittney engines were called the corn cobb. I beleave they had 28 cylinders, and 4100 hp, what a monster..56 spark plugs..

If when you check your tool box and find you are short 1 wrench. I would sure be hoping it isn't in the timing gear case of that Bristol Hercules.
