Considering the property, I would say that Nixon did the best he could with what he had to work with. There was very limited parking and only one small drive way in and out. Impossible to get that amount of heavy stuff out very fast. I beat the crowd, I was loaded and on the road by 2:30. I didn't stay to see the last line sell. You can only watch so many stuck JD engines sell. All in all I would say prices were average to high for the condition of the engines. Its going to take a lot of acetylene to get most of this stuff loose!!

A couple photos of the site prior to the sale. A lot of stuff to load out at one driveway. There was a plan for loading out, but I think was too many bosses and it became an absolute mess. Prices were strong considering condition.

On the North side of the engines, maybe 25 feet was the road. The road was also 60 feet to the West edge of engines. They could have also moved all the engines along the road on the East side where the sale was the day before. If anyone thinks that would have been too much work, they actually did just half that anyway, moving it all out to the road to load , shortly after the sale. People could have pulled in there on the East side of the road like Friday, or on the West side of the area where the engines were.
The whole thing was the executor made the decisions. He wanted everyone to have the paid receipt to even get in line to load . He was also told to have the sale next week, instead of the Holliday weekend, and during the MtPleasant swap, which could have given me more spending money. He said he had plans to go camping next week, so he wanted the sale yesterday . I am sure he did not care, as he is a court appointed administrator.

Maybe you should post your show schedule so all the auctioneers can work around yours. I'm glad I was able to split my resources and make enough money at Mt pleasant to out bid you or whoever was running the bid up on me. (Because we know that's why everybody goes to auctions) if you post your phone # the auction companies can consult u for set ups and load outs. Everyone of us has lived those nightmares. The best plan laid some moron will screw them up. Another thing you could consider is posting the best time of the month to hold an auction. The weekend after you get your check or however you make your $. I hope everybody enjoyed their weekend at the show swap or auction. No turf damage around me this weekend. KP

I thought it was a fun sale, there were a couple of deals but most engines sold good. Nixon did a good job and I personally enjoy a good old auction without the online bidding, buyers premium ext. The loading was kind of a pain but I think they did the best they could with what they had. luckily I was able to get in line early and beat most of the rush. Here are some of the pictures I took.

Here are the engines I won. One is a Worthington Ingeco. I see now it has a freaze crack . The drain plug was left in place and most of the engines were out in the yard last winter.
Same story with the Chapman. I was surprised how many of the engines had water in them. My dad was always bug on being sure all the drain plugs were removed and the passage cleared . I left one in one winter, in a shed, and the shed had a leak right over the hopper , and of course, it froze.

The Chapman turned out to be better than I thought it would .
