Hello all,
My good friend Jim Anderson and I wanted a set of road builder pyramid style lugs for our 27-44's. Both of the tractors we bought were missing the lugs. Tomahawk Foundry in Rice Lake Wisconsin whipped us up two full sets in short order.
Jim wanted his new and sharp looking, but I wanted mine to have sort of a normal appearing amount of wear. After the drilling and tapping was done, I made a jig to fit two lugs at a time into my chopsaw and took one inch off of all of them. After rounding the sharp cuts off with the grinder, painting the bottom sides with primer and battleship gray, it was time to secure all 126 of them with splitlocks and square nuts.
This whole lug project was expensive and terribly time consuming, but my tractor was a road builder in central Minnesota and I wanted it outfitted according to the specs listed in the parts manual.
