You might try for the parts. Otto Piston rings and Olson's gaskets sponsors of this site for the gaskets and rings.

Are the pistons and rods missing? If not they can be reconditioned and put back in service.

You can also use farmall H pistons and rings in the 22. Aluminum and Slightly taller and you need to rebush the rod. The Farmall H is a sleeved engine so not likely to find oversize. There may be some oversizes available for pulling tractors. If you have the rods by all means rebabbit them. May need to anyway if you turn the crank. Hastings Piston Rings has rings by progressive siza and ring groove inserts if the ring lands are worn. The ACMOC (Antique caterpillar machinery owners club) is an excellent resource and worth joining. Also get in contact with a local chapter.

When I restored my 22 I got the gaskets through Cat. If you can track down the numbers you need it helps alleviate the confused look on their face when you go in.
