Bob Camble who made the JD carts made Doug Hansen of the same area ? steps all of Ductile. Very little malleable out there. Abaolutley not made of cast iron. No way.
If they are new buy one. Grind it. It should roll like cold butter.Sparks different too. Then drill little. Ductile makes spirals like steel and cast iron makes chips .
The ductile some times is represented as cast iron as they are casted and of iron, but not cast iron as we know it .
They also mostly use a support rod as they will bend and break .
