Default Kohler Regulator, B-258545, Light Board GM34505

Flightsystems is looking for these two components. These are the scr pack with heat sink, also called the heat sink assembly. The other is the light receiver board for the regulation system. They are looking for a few that do not work, to "experiment on" .
If you have any DO NOT THROW THEM AWAY. Send them to Flight systems.
If you have any more questions on this please contact Bob York at flightsystems at 1-800-403-3728.

I do not have ony as of yet but they still need some.
The scr goes under other numbers as well and the old number for the light board is b-292902 this is the older version.

The other lesser known scr pack they are looking for is the scr labeled A-233999, this is for the larger gensets.

how about the new SCR board on the fast response 3 generators? they have been out for two to three years and i've seen a couple fail, one went to full excitation.

Anybody have any other good/bad things to say about Flight systems product? specifically the SCR and board assembly...otherwise know as the heat sink assembly.

So Flight systems has ran into an unforeseen issue. Apparently their new scr pack has seen an issue where it spikes the genset when first fired up. this is not
a common issue since the has only been a few incidence out of a good bit sold. But enough to make them wonder. So Their heatsink, is set up with higher amperage and better reacting diodes. However the new photo boards are using a small transformer on them that is possibly effecting them. So They are looking for someone who would be interested in testing out one that has been modified to see if it works or not.

Their new diodes are probably the reason for the spikes. I’ve seen this happen in big motor drives before that have been “fixed”. The new diodes are faster so there can be faster rise/fall times and resulting spikes from the winding inductance. They can probably fix this with a simple snubber.

If this is the SCR pack that mounts on the armature, pleeeease have them round off the corners of the heatsink! Those things are a pain to replace and always scrape hands/arms while working on them.
