Sometimes you don’t have to derate at all for single phase output, but it depends on the generator end. If you derate by 2/3 (about 21kva) you’re safe.

In the past, on kohlers, all I’ve had to do to change the generator wiring config is to reconnect the generator leads and adjust the voltage adjustment pot until the output voltage is correct. I haven’t had to make big changes to accommodate the voltage regulator. On your set, I’d try making the wiring changes and seeing if you can just adjust your way to proper voltages. Going from 208v to 240v should be within adjustable range. It’s when you go from 208/240 to 480 that you need to be careful, usually.
