Default Onan JC B 12.5-over speed reset button assembly

Onan JC B 12.5-over speed reset button assembly Needed or a way to bypass it or repair? Canít locate a new relay assembly. My unit has two coils. One for over speed and one for temp. Overs speed lamp on always. Even when running. Have to hold button in to get unit to run. Have checked centrifugal switch on gen and works fine. Problem is in that little push button device.

Have been searching for replacement or fix.

Any help appreciated.

Thank you

I think the over speed switch is on the end of the armature shaft under the end bell of the gen-end. The centrifugal switch by the oil filter is a different duck.

I am near positive that Johnny C has a video on youtube, where he was demonstrating how this works and adjustments etc. Go to youtube and try something like JB overspeed operation or how it works, If you check his threads it is no doubt there also.

I believe he is talking about the. Alarm assembly 307-1519. It is a stacked relay with very fine arms on it. They can bend real easy. You should also try spraying it with some electronic cleaner. They are easy to stick and sometimes a good cleaning is all you need.

The arm he is talking about. Should reset itself. If you have to go in and reset it. Something is wrong. The magnet should pull it back down. When the engine stops. Should be part of your yearly service check.

You seem to be referring to the "over speed switch", the centrifugal switch is not related to the over speed alarm.
