Default International Harvestor Refrigerator

This may be off topic but I thought it was interesting. Sitting inside today watching TV with the wife I spotted an International Harvestor fridg with the IH script and logo on the set of the show "Friends". I had to run the DVR back so I could attach this picture for the Stack. Seen several IH refrigerators but didnt think I'd see one in Courtney Cox's kitchen

My Grandpa worked in the plant that built these back in the 50's in Evansville, Indiana. They had one that looked just like it in their kitchen.

My grandparents had a big IH chest freezer back in the 60's, still running as of a couple years ago with new owners, never had any repairs done to it, they just don't make them like that anymore.

I haven't seen the episode, but I read about it in:
"International Harvester, McCormick, Navistar: Milestones in the Company That Helped Build America".

My parents also had a chest freezer made by IH they bought it new in late 40's and it finally gave up in 2004 they never had to have any service on it.I guess they don't make them like that anymore.

In 1948 we got R.E.A. on the farm in SO.DAK. Dad bought a I.H.C. refrigerate that had the square logo on the Handel. It lasted up to 1969. Now the logo is worth more then he paid for the whole refrigerate. When I bought this place there is a I.H.C. chest freezer in the basement, I asked the guy how he got it down there he said put it in there when I dug the basement for the addition. I don't us it but it still works.

I'm still using an IH refridgerator. Was my grandmothers. Made in 1953. Has a footpedal to unlatch the door. This one has a heated butter storage in the door and a setting for defrosting it.

I still use a 1952 IHC fridge, works well and the beer is always cold! Besides the fact it is very quiet, cold and fits my retro Kitchen.
