Default Re: Maytag MODEL 92 POINTS

its been a long time since i worked on one of the 92 engines but the point gap is .020 i think the plug was .025 autolite 3095 plug is what i used the points are gapped by loosening the nut on the stationary contact and turning it there is also an adjustment on the govenor that will vary the point gap you should go on you tube and watch shop dog sam he has videos on the 92 and 72 maytag they will show you everything that you would want to know

Thumbs up Re: Maytag Model 92 Points

Pinball, your engine was built in early September, 1934. originally, the 92 used a Champion plug made for Maytag, the equivalent of the Champion #34 Gas Engine Special. You can find both on evilbay. Maytag plug in a Maytag looks great! The Champion X (Ford model T plug) will work too.
