Default Gillett Generator Kohler powered

Just picked up this from craigslist.
It's 13000 propane and 10000 on Natural Gas.
Powered by a 25 hp Kohler command engine.
It came with a 100 amp transfer switch made by Cutler Hammer.

Model SP130-1-1 Serial YL10-502
My question is what needs to be done to raise the voltage and frequency?
Controller is a ESG53. I know nothing else about the controller.

I have a 3.5 ton Trane AC. Would a boost cap help with starting the AC?
It does start and run the unit but I have a couple mercury vapor lights that go out when the AC starts.

PS posted in Kohler section due to no area for Gillett.

Thanks,
Chas183

You'll need to look somewhere else on the web, as this is the Kohler generator forum - Gillettes are nothing remotely close. Engines are dealt with elsewhere.

As for the Gillette, it's probably a revolving field machine, which means there's a voltage regulator of some sort. Frequency is speed dependent. Voltage is not.

You should set the speed so the frequency at no load is around 63 Hz of there is a mechanical governor, which there most likely is.

It's unlikely that it will start a 3.5 ton AC unit, even with a boost cap, especially if there is anything else on the unit at the time. If it does the voltage dip will be pretty substantial.

Google is your friend. You might also try contacting Gillette directly.

I called the manufacturer and they were kind enough to send the electrical drawings and the owners Manuel. If I want the service or maintenance Manuel it's 150.00 for them to scan it and email.

I have everything hooked up and am very pleased with how it runs.
I changed the oil and air filter. Installed fuel injection hose clamps on the oil cooler lines due to the lines dripping a small amount oil. Spring clamps where not working out. The hoses are a little dry and not very pliable so they may need to be replaced soon.

Had a small miss on first start up and noticed the plug wires leaking spark. I replaced both coils and still had a slight miss at start up. I checked the spark plug gap and it was at .035. Readjusted to .020 per the Manuel and she runs fantastic.
Transfers to generator power in fifteen seconds after utility goes offline. I would have liked it to be a bit longer to give the engine time to warm up and stabilize.

Tried to attach the Manuel but its too big.
Going to try and get the RPM a little higher to get the HZ and voltage in spec.
