Default Multi stage centrifugal pump

I picked up a small multi stage pump .It's a Siemans and Hirsch . Four stage ,side entry with four open sided bronze impellors . My guess is that it is a feed pump ,maybe on a small boiler. Interestingly it was direct coupled to a Villiers Mk12 engine .....so if it was producing high pressure output it obviously did not require a high HP input to drive it . What can I do with it ????

Jim........yes I will,Ted you can have it if I can not find space in the shed for it !
I am wondering if it will provide a decent load for an engine .

Jopeter

do you think it was worked with the Villiers engine as a feed pump?
or was cobbled up to move some water at low pressure?

Walky...The person who gave me the pump doesn't know what the pump was used for . It was definately driven by the Villiers and if it was a boiler feed pump then the water quality was not to good as the internals of the pump are scaled . Otherwise it is OK . I am going to belt it up to a 5 HP Sunshine two stroke with some 1 inch pipe work and see how it performs . I suspect it will be low volume / high pressure .
I'd be interested in any comments .

Peter, off subject but I was wondering if you could assist me with details of a replacement filter element to replace the large cloth filter in the Southern Cross YB diesel engines.I seen the info on the net somewhere and cannot relocate.Gunna.

I couldn't find ANY information searching Siemans and Hirsch......I DID, however, come up with many results searching for Siemens and Hinsch pumps

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&c...+pumps&spell=1

The second result leads to the TOMM forum which you can't DECENTLY view without creating an account....... ......but you can see enough.......
