Default Barn Find

We have known about this engine for a number of years and have talked numerous times with the owner about it. Several weeks ago we received a phone call from the owner wanting to know if we were interested in buying the engine. We left Wichita around 7 am and picked the engine up and were back home and had it unloaded into our garage by 5 pm. It has been in the back of a barn for over 15 yrs. It needs a lot of TLC and elbow grease to get it back in shape. It is a Terning Engine and the boiler was built in 1979

Congratulations John & Dalene!

Will it morph into a 110 by NTA next year!?!? You'll have something to drag along and help run Butch's sawmill!

Good find John & Dalene! Get that puppy in shape and I'll be waiting for you at Wauseon this next year. I know Steve will be glad to see another 65 model and will be happy to run with you as would I. Please pulley your govenor to run your engine at 300 rpms to run on the mill. You are in for some learning curves as these really eat the water and wood or coal when working. I am glad for John that he has gotten a Turning as he had worked there for a while. Be careful, check her out good and happy steaming. Butch

Butch,

.....they could bring it up and leave it at your place so they could come back for other shows in this neighborhood and take it back after LaGrange for Mt Pleasant.....................

What do you think John & Dalene??

John,
I'm sure you and Ted will have that cute little engine ready for Winfield, right? I'm sure glad you and Dalene got it, regardless.

Gary, Dalene has already been right in the middle of this project since it got home. We are in the process of seeing what is wrong and what needs to be replaced. The engine has sat for over 15 yrs and needs a lot of cleaning and TLC. I doubt if it will see steam untill next year due to all the things we are trying to get done over the next couple of months. I dont know who gets dirtier her or me when we are working on a project like this.
