Greetings - My Great Uncle G kindly allowed me to write in under his name. (Danke sehr mein Onkel!).
We just helped a friend haul home a 25-75 Gaar-Scott single cylinder, rear mount traction engine. It came from a Mr. Adrian at Canwood, Saskatchewan (near Prince Albert). Serial # is 16403, boiler # is 8091. It has the heavy Canuck style boiler. Just wondering if anyone can supply further details on this unit - date built, history, boiler stats or drawing and details, etc??? The engine seems to be in excellent shape with great numbers on the ultrasound. It is a fine looking Prarie plowing engine complete with extension rims and on the fly water sucker! I will get Onkel G to post a picture or three some day soon. Thank you for any help. Best wishes, Rick Mannen Ontario. |

Rick,
Congrats on a fine acquisition! ![]() ![]() ![]() According to Epping's website of serial numbers: http://members.tripod.com/Rumelypull/RumelySN.html#gaar This one is a 1913 model. Good luck with the new toy! As most folks on here can tell you, I'm right fond of the G/S Tigerline. ![]() Mike McKnight |

![]() ![]() ![]() May see you this weekend, not much leaving home here for Cookstown, just too darn busy with everything else. Was supposed to start holidays this week, but that got changed, and next week may get changed again ![]() Ben Colder p.s. Mike we had a Tiger brand at our show here in Ontario some 30 years ago, will have to try and find out some info for you. I believe the engine eventually went State side. I will ask the previous owners here if I can pass on there contact info to you. Robert |

Hey Folks - Mein Neffe gave me some photos to post of their new Gaar Scott. This is as found in Saskatchewan. Hope they turn out ok. They should be able to get 20 or 30 psi on this old tea kettle don't you think?

RevJJ,
Maybe they'd let you run the levers and only be envious? I don't think the bible has as much to say about envy as jealousy, covet and lust? That way, you don't risk rotator cuff surgery either, from trying to steer. Gary ![]() P.S. That's one fine looking Gaar-Scott Rick. It looks quite well taken care of. |

G/Rick
I thought that was you but didn't want to blow your cover. Good lookin' engine. Robert Is the engine that you are talking about, the one that was in Bracebridge? I looked at that engine in the early 90's when I first moved here up Nort! With the little experience I have, it looked pretty good. John Schrock bought that one and I remember seeing it in Wauseon in the mud for their 50th show. I believe he has since sold it. I have the trailer loaded and ready to go for the weekend. Hope to see you both in Cookstown. Will be there late afternoon tomorrow. Ross |
