Delco Farm Lighting Installation & Service 1918 Film Part 1 of 3

In 1916, Charles F. Kettering founded the Domestic Engineering Company and introduced the Delco-Light electric plant to bring the wonders of electricity to homes, farms, and businesses in rural America. Joining with battery and appliance manufacturers, Delco-light offered a complete electric power system for "flameless lighting", "running water", and convenient labor saving equipment and appliances.

I've always found these systems quite interesting and find rare videos like this one priceless.

I have seen these at some point or other. And yes, they are truly priceless. Very much worth the watch.

Time changes us in big ways this is only 100 years.
Life today is so completely different but in other ways the homes do not look all that different.

I'd like to see more on the old farm wind generators like the Jacobs and Wincharger plants. Also some farms used 110v DC battery banks with small AC inverters for induction motor loads. I would love to see more info on the latter systems in particularly.

I enjoyed the films and learned a little something. In the first part at about 2:55 the writing on the side of the service vehicle I noticed it said Delco Lihgt. I've been spelling it wrong all these years, that is, light.
