Mr. Triebner?
While you are sorting out your picture posting (size does matter on those, check the scale on the manager window!), perhaps you will have a moment to comment on these pix? They were taken at the International Plowing Match at Listowel a few years back and it is a 1/2 scale(?) model of a Leonard - sorry they are not the best pix!
So, being in a normal state of stunned, I never took the time to look this over properly and chat with the owners so know little about it. But they did a heck of a job with it! I wonder what they copied off?

Oh and Gary K, thanks for posting the excellent images!
I couldn't help myself from posting these! This is what came before the portable steamers.
The first is from the International Plowing Match from near Ottawa (Navan?) a few years back. This is real horse power. I am not sure of the make of the rig but it could be Mathew Moody Co out of Québec. I think the antique shows that they had down that way at the IPMs were probably the best and most complete shows ever held in Ontario!
The second is of an old pal who is now departed. This is Willy Thomasing, the king of the horse powers at a Waterloo reunion show at the old Ontario Ag Museum! Willy knew his stuff and this was a Waterloo outfit and they were also running a Waterloo hand fed mill. He had several of these sweeps and had a show at his own place a couple of times and at one, I think he had 4-5 outfits running plus one steam outfit!

G Willikers:
Here's 3 photos of an unusual portable at the September 1, 2006 WMSTR at Rollag, Minnesota. The only information I can offer, is what's cast on the flywheels:

HERSCHELL - SPILLMAN CO.
N. TONAWANDA, N.Y. U.S.A.

The late Bill Henry's big Frick portable, now owned by his stepson Joe Blizman

Proventure's Orr & Sembower, which used to belong to Tom Downing. I don't know how many were made, but this is the only one I've seen.

You got me on this one. I don't even remember taking the picture.

Ben: My question to you would be, did N & S ever build portables?? Your's is the first mention I have ever seen of any. I did have a N & S catalogue a few years back [passed it on to someone else] and I don't recall seeing any in there. My guess is it was too late [can't recall the year now], so if so, how late did they continue to build portables?

Just a couple from Williams Grove this past summer, Gary Craig's
Naugle potable s/n:25349 and Mike Rorher's Peerless portable Model G
s/n:16086, Both inspected and in running order.

I beleive Gary's Naugle engine may be the only one left, perhaps he can fill us in on that, never less, they are both nice Portables.
