I shot these 4 photos of REEVES #7981 at the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion at Rollag, Minnesota on September 4, 2009.

Hi all dont forget Reeves are a wet bottom box. Buddy Bob says wide bottom people should not own a wet bottom boiler. regards bb.

When I owned 7981, I would take off the fire door ring and skin arms, shoulders, etc. getting into the firebox...but I could get in there! Darn small firebox doors on wet-bottom Gaar-Scott engines are different stories....

This is Reeves #6164 20hp cc owned by Mike Garross in Beach Park, IL. I purchased this engine in Sun Prairie, WI where it was used to steam tobacco beds.

This is 20hp Reeves ds US #8071 that used to be owned by the late Lyle Hoffmaster and the late Haston St.Clair. I don't know who owns it? I was hoping Dan Gregor might let us know, but I decided to post it anyway. Lyle sent me the picture several years ago. It is one of the latest 20s sold and has the optional steel built-up driver wheels. Gary

As we're talking of 20hp's, what is the framework of the canopy made of? Is it steel framed with canvas over it?
Mike White, Somerset, England.

While crossing South Dakota heading home from Rollag this past Sept., I was flagged down, I think it was near Faulkton on rte 212, by a chap who has a 20 Reeves...reboilered by Oliver and Jim Briden and was at Rollag in '05...I remember seeing it because that's where and when Reeves 7981 became "THE RED TAG SPECIAL" and a new boiler became of great interest. I don't remember the guy's name but I would think other readers here would . He also mentioned a 16.
