That is the correct mag but needs the point cover.

I think I can see part of a serial # stamped next to the crank case cover. That is another place they stamped the number.

Thanks Jon. I will check that number. Thanks to you Bubbles for the mag info. It won`t be long now till tear down time. I told my wife that I would first finish the John Deere L that I am almost done with. I did a total restoration of it. Also have to get my wood supply for the shop as I heat with that.

Thanks Torben. I am still searching and waiting around to see if anything comes up. I will go ahead with the restoration and maybe make some kind of temporary intake pipe so I can run it. If nothing comes up I will have to have one cast, and will keep you in mind. Maybe whoever does it can cast two at the same time, but will have to find one to borrow from someone. My friend with the machine shop told me of someone who has an L close to us here in Ohio who may let me use his pipe. I see some of these tractors with and without a cover over the clutches on the belt pulley. Are all supposed to have a cover? Chris

If the tractor has a "spring loaded" clutch it should have a clutch cover.

Your tractor should have a sheet metal cover.

Thanks for the reply Bubbles. I thought it was supposed to have one. Looks like another part to locate. I know I have seen it on other posts, but who is it who has those brass lines that are easy to bend? I did find a guy that has the points cover and points. It is Mainely Magnetos, and they seem to have quite a few parts for older mags.

Photo Re: Rumely Oil Pull L 15-25 Parts and Advice Wanted

Finally got it moved around in the shop where I need for tear down. I took off the fenders to take to man to have them worked on. I was looking at where my air intake stack brace bolts up on the engine block, and there is some short flat bar on there with a 90 bent on top just under the manifold. The brace I have is a long angle iron piece that I got from Beiwers and cannot go there because the manifold is in the way. Am I right in assuming that this is not the right manifold for the air cleaner system I have? My guess is that the manifold broke at one time and was replaced with another type, and the air cleaner and pipes were left off as it had no intake at all when I got it. Am I going to have to look for the correct manifold or change the whole air cleaner system? I did find a recast intake pipe from a 12-20 I think and can be machined to work on mine. The pics will show the manifold and block. Looking forward to hearing from you all. Chris.
