Default Le Sueur Swap Meet

I'm just wondering how things look for the Swap Meet this week. I always look forward to seeing a few "Stakers" there. Friday looks to be dry so I'll be checking it out then.

We will be there too. Just getting loaded up now and came in to take a break and dry off. Yuk. Make sure you all stop in and say Hi. I will have a IH sign out that says "Lindy's old iron" on it.

Hello all,
Was the swap results posted anywhere else?
Now that it is over, I am surprised at the lack of commentary.
How did it go for some of the folks that attended...
any neat treasures come home with anyone...
how about the early open on Thursday
Tony

Tony -- Selling wasn't as good as other years but was still good for us, however, buying was not so good. We went home with a few bigger items than what we brought but what we bought wasn't as much as other years.

I thought the early open was great! We were able to get in, set up, buy a couple things (even if it is aginst the law) and have a beverage before the sun went down. I went down with a load and came back with a mostly differant load and more money. Life is good.

Thanks to Dave Pruehs and crew for their hospitality this past weekend. Still a good weekend despite the rain on Saturday.

I had a great time,
sold some, bought some, and visited until my voice was cracking and giving up.
The early open was really nice!
Pioneer Power should consider AM or noon opener on Thursday every year as it provides much appreciated extra time for the vendors to set up. April is notoriously cool and wet. When the club holds back hundreds of vendors who are piling up on the road and getting stuck in the mud instead of just driving on in in the order you arrive in it seems like a lot of extra work
Why move everyone twice and cause a mass rush for prefered vending spots when you could let a much smaller crowd in Thursday morning and the rest would be slower moving first come, first serve???
I bring this up because the swap is getting so huge and I talked to many others who feel the same way.
All the club members did a great job...Pioneer Power is a class act that puts on a grand event! Thank you!
Here is a shot of my little junk pile in the corner and a couple of an Oliver rope trip on steel (four sixteens) that I brought home for myself

Hi Gary (Sharon), Tony and others,
It was a nasty year this year due to the weather both before and during the swap meet. The vendor parking lines started out as usual but ended up parking the vendors on the east/west roads in the parking lot to keep the parking lot from getting dug up, by doing it this way took up more room. When the vendors filled the lot then a "back log" got going on the county road intersection........then the gates were opened at about noon to make room for incoming vendors. I personally like the noon opening but not sure what the powers that be will think. We don't want to go any earlier and make it a week long event, it isn't far from it anyway but we try and make the vendors wait till they can set up in the grounds before any serious selling and trading goes on.

It was a bit of a frustrating year for every one attending the swap meet, but hopefully next year will be a little nicer..........but???? I want to thank everyone for coming and having patience with the loader guys and parking attendants.

Here a link to more swap meet talk:

By the way Tony, nice plow.
