Been 100deg.+ in the workshop! I am getting all the studs made for five engines now. Hopefully the temp will subside and progress will resume!

Looks like your whiskers blew off on that bike John!!

I haven't made any progress working on engines due to the heat either. It gets comfortable in the garage right around bedtime.

John, Do you know if the 4,6 & 8hp reids share the same size and configuration main & mixer valves ? Be sure to bring plenty of Reid & Pattin parts to Portland.

The 4hp and 6hp REID engines I've had, the mixers and transfere valve were not the same. I don't know about the 8hp REID.

John, What are your plans for the red brass reid engine tags? Are you going to have new ones made or use the plates you are selling now.

Maybe this has been asked before (I didn't read every post in the thread) but what are these going to sell for when finished? The complete engine.

Back in the saddle again!
Installed cyl in bedplate! Have to remove and grind socket clearance for top two holes (bummer). All in all doesn't look too bad though!

Exclamation Re: A 4hp REID project by John Burns

Is it the way the photo was taken, or is the power cylinder slightly offset from the crankthrow centerline? In the photo's, it looks like the cylinders are offset to the left. Thanks,
Andrew
