Dan- long trip but thats a nice find!!!!!!!

Got one i have been wanting for about 6 months now almost a twin brother to yours. Just cant get the wife to bite on # 4 especially w my new Harley sitting next to the other 3.

If the darn power would just go out now that i am all hooked up she might understand a little better.

squidtrap....Tell your wife that you need the 4th one so that when the power goes out, the 4th will run the heating blanket to keep the new Harley WARM!!!

Motorhead- thats a good one. Only problem she said if i want the bike get it but wont get on the bike.

One time when i was trying to scam getting the 7.5 she said lets see, you have a 5.0 6.5 and 2.2 makes no sense to me (her)told her would only need to run 1 for the whole house, she did not buy that, and the wood stove really blew the deal.

Squidtrap, I don't know how long you have been married but my wife of 38 years (44 years together) runs the same way as yours. She asked me what I was going to do with the 7.5JB I just bought when I have 3-5.0ccks, 8kw Dayton/generac diesel (Which is set up to run the house) and various others.
At least in my case, she is my "Adult Supervision ". We both joke about it. I bought a used 2007 BMW R1200GS last year and she asked me if I was going to sell my 1976 Honda 550F that I bought new in 1978.
What I am sayng, I guess, is that it BLOWS OVER and I just go about my business. Something that quieted her questions/concerns/complaints, was that I do buy and sell stuff. I bought some rare vintage VW stuff in around 1986 for $600. We were not "Flush with money" by ANY means. I ended up selling the same stuf about 17 years later for just under $17,000 dollars. I gave her a "CUT" (Hush Money) and that changed her mind about my hobby.

I guess we all have good wives. 33 years for me, your right Motorhead, got to pick your battles, it will blow over. If i just put my mind to it i will just pick it up and deal with it later. My main problem is my son (27) moved out, got married, bought house, but forgot his 1992 mitsubishi galant vr4 all wheel drive all wheel steer. Oh and the other garage FULL of all the parts thet are going to be out of here ASAP.

Then i got lots of green space.

Dan- your right, need to go to bed w/ all good, you really never know when your time is up. Take care of your wife and make sure she takes her meds, friend had that and for some reason he kept telling family he was taking them? not a good idea. Keep at it you will find that hitch in the motor, i know you are persistant, take care all.

Open the plug gap to .030 & see if that helps.

Had it running with out missing I watched the points and no sparks flying out of them I had let it cool down after lunch and checked the point gap and reset them it was a sloppy .020" I need to get spark plugs it has one champion 8 and one is a champion 10 which it shows in manual. I get new plugs in it and see if it stops that miss now and then under a small load it does not miss any . had 4000kw on it and it never quivered . going to have to get me a industrial heavy duty dolly cart

Dan- speaking of carts, we have real nice ones at work, they are plastic but super heavy duty, and real good casters. Will hold 400 lbs no problem.

Had the NH on one and the CCK on the other. 2 days ago i was moving some stuff around in the garage and noticed both split in half. Units have been on them for over a year running sitting you name it.must have been the super hot days.

Go easy on me (plastic) i know, but they both have bases, 1 the CCK original wood one, the NH was the steel one from the factory. You really need to see them to understand, anyhow its time to get out the welder, at least i have the casters. I think they are rated for 800 lbs.

Got A Question? Hope to one day is to set this 7.5 JB up for the Stationary Backup for when Grid power is Off What is the best way to secure this JB I can get some industrial castor wheels or thinking may set it on like oak 5 by 7 and bolt through the metal frame it is on to the wood do you think it will set still on the concrete floor or vibrate and move ?The other day I had it just setting on carpet running and it kept wanting to slide from rotation of engine so I anchored it with straps and it stayed in place Thanks any ideals ?

One suggestion would be to do what I did. I mounted my JB on a set of 36 inch 4 x 4's. The 4 x's were in turn bolted to the concrete floor. You must allow the unit to have some lateral rocking motion as required by use of the unique Onan rubber mounting pads.

Leon that is a good way to support the JB like you did I will get treated 4x4 and make 36 in long two of them and also for added support is I can get some heavy mine belting and lay down on 4x4s and then set frame on them and bolt down like you say it has to have some movement in the rubber mounts .Thanks

Dan, if you received the JB mouthed to that metal frame as shown in your first post, I would say, that is OK. All you have to do is secure that metal frame to the floor. No need to remove it and do what I did. One thing to check - I cannot tell from the picture, but it may be that the rubber mounting through bolts are to tight. If so, that will restricted lateral wiggle room for the JB to sort of float on the rubber mounts. You be the judge.
