I have run my 5.0CCK with the high compression heads on gasoline. I run mid grade and no problems. Remember that when you are shutting down a CCK that the governor puts the throttle to wide open so the engine can run on like '70's cars did. I hold the throttle closed when shutting down and no run on.
You are lucky to have the high compression heads. it probably came with them from the factory because yours is a tri fuel.

You time the CCK by sliding the point box to one side or the other. For vapor, most of us have found better performance by leaving the plug gap alone.
