Question Witte Dieselelectric Date?

I have run across a 6 HP Witte Dieseleletric plant # D-4460. Can anyone date it for me? The plant is missing the control board, The crankcase vent aand vover, and the starting crank has been busted in two. The part that goes on the crankshaft (pawl) is missing. Is a starting crank and the crankcase vent still available? Thanks in advance,
Andrew

The sr.# on the engine might tell the date? I got # 80 that was built 1935. This sr# information is available on the net.

I've got no D 687 I believe made in 1937.

Yours No D 4460 should have been built in 1942.

No pictures for now - I do not have access to where the engine is - an abandoned factory complex. hopefully, it can be retrieved before the building falls down. the owner is not willing to part with it - yet.
