Default Generac QT02224GNAX 3phase unit- Can i convert to single phase?

Howdy folks,
Looking at a quietsource QT02224GNAX setup for 3 phase use. Can I convert this for 120/240 residential use? If so, what KW can I expect?

The Label states the following info:
22kw, 27.5KVA,
3 Phase, 120/208V, 76 AMp, Power fact .8,
Class H rotor, Class H stator,
Alt Subtrans React .130, Alt Trans React .140.
Winding 25c.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Peter

Looks to me like it is possible to convert it. But there could be several variations depending on how they built it. And we might have to use slightly unconventional reconnections. 18 kW is what you can get out of it.

Thank you Birken Is there any chance the genset might not be able to be converted? Trying to make this purchase from afar and won’t be able to confirm how many wires are coming from the generator. It looks like this model is factory configured for a variety of phase and voltage options via WYE or delta arrangements. The bigger question is what’s involved in the conversion and of anything would prevent it from being successful. Thanks again. Peter

Some of these are known to come with alternators specifically wound for one voltage only, conversion may not be possible. For instance, the neutral could be buried in the windings.

I can't emphasize strongly enough how bad of an idea this is. Unless the generator is new with a factory warranty and custom ordered to your specifications, you need to see it in person, run it, and load test it prior to purchase.

The only thing I know is that the manual says it could either be 6 or 12 leads. If it is 6 lead then it could reconnect as dogleg. If it is 12 lead it could be connected as anything.

It does not show any option for 4 leads which would be non-convertible (well you might be able to dig into the windings and convert it anyway).

I have only seen about 6 of these in person, and 5 were single phase, and the other was delta, and I have never had need to dig into the reconnections on any of them.
