The coil in the box is the CT (current transformer) coil for your amp meter.

Glad to hear it runs, that is always a relief to know you have not bought a boat anchor.

Be sure the diaphragm on the fuel pump is not leaking into the crank case.

No idea on the filter canister, I have not had one that did not have a spin on filter yet.

Maybe you can find an adapter for a Spin on filter. Just a thought!

I don't think the current transformer is factory onan. The wires to it run through a hole tears the back and have was been cut. Must have been for a remote read meter.

I would think that you could convert the oil filter to spin on fairly easily. The cartridge oil filter must have been a less common option as I have never seen one. Put up some pics so we can see what the base looks like. I think you won on this set. Cheers Dan

Just make sure that the CT is either connected to an ammeter or shorted before you apply a load to the conductor that passes through it.

I am actually thinking about just removing it. Since I don't know what kind of gauge went to it or even what brand, I don't think I need it taking up space and adding extra weight.

Agreed that that is the best course of action if it will not be used for anything. Most ammeters are 5 amp to full scale, and the CT should be labeled as to its turns ratio. For future reference, or if you decided to sell it.

If you want it, it is yours. Pm me and I will get it to you.

This uses the small oval paper or foam filter I guess. I looked in the manual but can't find a part number. Is there a cross for the factory air filter?
Thanks.

I found the parts manual and figured out what air filter I need. This will help a lot.
