Default Qty (5) 12.5JC- 3R at gov auction

List,

Don't know if anyone is in the White Hall, AR area, but I was poking around gov liquidation sites looking for smaller restorable Onans when I came upon this auction (it ends tomorrow).

"This is a lot of five (5) and you are buying all five generators in this auction, these are Onan natural gas gensets models 12.5JC-3R/30574AB AC volts 120/24 PW1 motors were running approximately three years ago. These were removed from two way radio tower sites some years ago. Unknown if they will generate electricity or not. We are selling not working and as salvage parts, The city of white hall will load them onto a trailer for the buyer. Sold as is where is no warranty. Serial F870906717/Serial F870890854/ Serial D870890854/ Serial F870906713/ SerialE870898620"

Current bid is around $400. https://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?f...11&acctid=9380

Oh my!! I'm trying my hardest not to bid.

5 skids and enclosures. I see fuel pumps, so possibly 5 tri-fuel carburetors!

They are 6 hours from me and I've gone 8 hours so far for only one unit, much less 5 units.

The worst part about govdeal.com transactions is the removal timeframe requirements. I gave the gentlemen a call and he would extend the removal time for me, but I would have to go there on a week day to get them which would be tough for me.

In worse case, part them out and sell the parts. Would be a gold mine right there. 1987 would be YD ends......

Anybody here in that area that would be willing to pick them up for me and hold them until I could get up that way?

Contact the Auction Co, they may have someone that could pick them up and hold them for you. Just a thought!

Like Gunny said, parts alone would be 5x that prob.

I would love to have one working JC for my backup plan. But, my being in WY that is not going to happen. I hope someone else can derive some benefit from these.

Its up to $551 with 20 minutes left.

$1151 and 3 minutes!!

And its over. I can breath now as I would have been out once it got to $750.

Final is $1151 even with one 3 minute auto extension that took place. Still a good deal for the person that bought them though. $247 each is what it works out to which includes the 7.5% admin fee on the sale.

I think a lot of auctions would become real auctions if eBay would adopt the auto 3 minute extension policy. Would eliminate bid sniping altogether.

I'm sure glad eBay hasn't adopted that. I do NOT like getting into an emotional bidding war with other bidders. I bid what I think it's worth, and that's it. Emotional bidders determine an item's value by gauging how interested OTHER bidders are. Great for sellers, sure, but not for me lol. I bid at the last second so that the emotional, uncertain bidder cannot use MY valuation to determine that HIS bid should be higher.
