Default 2 1/2 Ottawa Log Saw

Hi,

I bought an Ottawa log saw I think its a 2 1/2 hp and need some information on it.

I want to build a correct log cart for it can someone give me the dimensions of the long wood beams including dimensions for the round handles and the cut out/notch at the other ends for the channel that holds the wheels as a starting point. also I need the dimensions for the clutch gear that attaches to the engine that drives the saw or if anyone has one for sale that I can buy or can make one that would be great.

Thanks,

Nader

I am still new to hit or miss engines I think the bore is 4 1/4" (diameter of the hole where the piston is located) not sure what the stoke is or how to figure it out.

Thanks,

Nader

i think it is about 2-1/2 hp. i also think it was the first ottawa saw model made and i think the LS is just for log saw. the ones sold as stationary engines had the hp. stamped on them. I have one like yours with the 2 flywheels I also have a model ES which i think is rated at 4 hp. it has a slightly larger bore and a larger water hopper. It is about the same size as the LS. The later T series throttle governed were 4 and 5 hp and made up until around 1940. Then were replaced by wisconsin air cooled engines until about the early 50s. the LS and ES were made in the 1914-1920 period. I can't help with the saw parts as all were gone except for the 2 wheels when i got it.
