Yes well with regard to the previously mentioned steel plate used to fit metal rims to wooden wagon wheels .I thought it only right to attach a photo . This item is 40 mm thick and 2 meters in diam....quite a hefty piece of steel!

Thank you Winchester, that is the thing we are after! The correct ones, or should I say original ones were cast iron. I have had information, that one could be acquired in Qld,but I have to follow that lead a bit further. Thanks again. Phil.
