Have you put together any of your video of Forest telling those stories you speak of? My friend Chady Atteberry (87) speaks often of Forest. We have made the trip their on several occasions on our return trips from Rollag. Amazing collection, now under the stewardship of a very close friend of his, who is sheparding the collection. Thanks for capturing Forest on celluloid. We'd ALL love to see it!

Are there any actual pictures of this elusive creature?

If my brain cells serve me faithfully, I believe this engine is now at Rollag... It had a solid flywheel and the boiler was just a tad small for the steam hungry 8x10 cylinders...

You are correct it is at Rollag, I saw it on the Prony brake a couple years ago. And it was there last year.

I think what your referring to as the solid flywheel engine is a 6 3/4 by 9. I can't find an outside picture of the engine from the flywheel side.

The grainy photograph that is thought to be a 8x10 double looks like it has a spoke'd flywheel. It also appears that the rear wheel extensions have their own spokes.

Yea, based on the reverse lever and the general size, I'm almost positive that's a 6 and 3/4 by 9. (smallest of the Frick double cylinder traction engines.)

That engine is a 7x10 double. I looked it over at Rollag, it has a different frame an gearing, nice engine! Thanks , Gary
