Default Gas-O-Lectric Plant

Is this engine a Pincor or an Iron Horse? I need to source a head gasket. I have to get a couple 12-24 carb mounting screws and I should be ready to start it. All 4 brushes were seized in their holders. Gas tank was a mess. Carb flange was broken. Points needed cleaning and adjusting. Slip rings and commutator needed cleaning. I spent an hour or so with a soft brass brush and avgas scrubbing. It is looking nice.

I believe you have an Iron Horse. It looks like a lil engine that I pick up not to long ago. Mine has no tag or marking's on it anywhere I can find but after doing some research of my own I do believe that is what I have. Compare it to yours and let me know what you think.

What ever engine it has on it, that little guy is cool.

I wonder if you could get Harry to put the Gas-O-Lectric Plant name in the title of the thread?

The engine is definitely an Iron Horse.
Here are a couple of pictures from a May 1941 Pincor Blue Diamond Generator catalog. The one from the cover shows your model with the suction carb and the picture from inside the catalog shows one with a down draft float type carb.

Thanx Harry!

It is just like the engines in the first brochure. It does have the six-bolt head. I got it running and generating perfectly today. I had to flash the field to get it to start generating. I need to rig up a 300w load and set the governor now. I would sure love to find the brush cover for the generator end.

Iron Horse for sure... or OMC (outboard Marne co.)/Johnson. Thatís a neat unit. I have a one half a country away and under a pile of other stuff at my fathers place. Itís newer that yours Iíd guess... 12v Gen end.

Make yourself a head gasket, hit up NAPA or whoever and order a 12Ēx12Ē sheet. Graphite jointing for steam will hold up, available at any industrial supply.
