Sure like to hear from someone who went. I didn't even consider it- nothing like the ones in Leola. Besides, I was at my friend's antique equipment museum(s) that he opens once a year for a few hundred of his closest friends. At one place they were operating a Bucyrus Erie cable shovel and the the other he had his all-original 12 h.p. screen-cooled Famous running and was starting an Oil Pull when we left. Thanks Billy!

I checked it out on Friday. There were a dozen or more corn shellers, a corn grader, a neat dirt cleaner (would have looked good hooked up to an engine), a few old stoves, large two man chain saws, assorted tractors, a maytage wash machine with one cylinder engine, and other assorted goodies. A nice assortment of goodies. About 1/4 the amount of the sale before it moved. A few newer Faibanks Morse engines, Two Hercules missing parts was all I remember in the engine line.
Nothing that I was intested in. I went to an auction to buy a civil war musket instead.

went for both days, that sale sure isn't what it used to be. in my opinon there wasn't that much stuff there and there wasn't that many people there either. the sale could have been done in one day if they wanted to. prices where cheap in my opinon not sure but thinking its not worth going to anymore its turned into just another farm auction.

Hi-
I was there but did not write down any selling prices. Usually somebody does it and I didn't think it was necessary. Since I can't hear all that well any more I am not very good at understanding auctioneer twang and would get prices mixed up anyway. I was drawn away half way thru and did not see the "big" engines sold. I saw some Briggs sold for $5 and up, the Maytags brought several hundred to three something, One military generator was $35 I think, and I heard that the big F-M ZC oilfield engines 7 and 12 HP only went for just over $200. Hope that the junk man didn't send then to China. They had car type ignition systems cobbed onto the flywheel rims but were fixable looking. Attached is a scan of the engine list that was handed out but no prices are added. The dirt cleaner went for about 100 or more. It was neat looking like a small thresher but I figure that I will just leave my dirt at home dirty as found. My buddy bought the little seed corn grader made in Indiana that was a really neat old piece for 300 or 350? Very interesting piece of hand cranked thing. I bought a sub, a diet pepsi, a ham and bean soup and a shoo fly pie to take home. Had a great time as usual.Click image for larger version

The air compressor did'nt sell he had a pretty high reserve on it. It was the last thing to try to be sold. I heard that he wanted 10,000 for it but don't know for sure.

hey Pistonring the 2 Fairbanks zc engines didn't go for scrap I bought both the 7hp (118) was $250 and the 12hp (208) was $200. both had governor issues. the 118 has an electronic ignition conversion which I also thought was someone getting creative but after some research found that it is a aftermarket kit. the domestic air compressor didn't sell I think they got around $10,000 and didn't meet the reserve. steve w.

I've only seen one other Domestic air compressor like the one pictured. Although rare I don't think it would be that desirable. I find it hard to believe the bidding would have got to around the $10,000 I heard that the auctioneer was asking $3500 and it produced no bids and the lot was passed. I don't know if that's true or not but it's something I can understand.

Went to the Probst auction today. Good time talking and meeting friends. New Holland's are still bringing good money.
