Default Auction with 57 engines 9-6-08

There is an auction Sat 9-6-08 near Rochester, N Y with 57 engines and 35 are listed as hit and miss. The easy way to find almost any auction is go to auctionzip.com and click on New York then go down to auctioneer Harris Wilcox. There is also engine and old car parts.

The auction was actually NW of Rochester, in Hilton. I caught many of the selling prices. If anyone knows what the Fuller and Johnson Light Plant went for, I'd be interested in knowing; it was a pretty interesting looking piece of equipment.

There was a 10% buyers premium atop the prices below, plus tax.

Aermotor (nicely restored) 825
Aermotor parts- block, crank, gears ~$7 or so because only 1 guy seemed to know what it was :-)
Associated Chore Boy 1-3/4 HP 475
Associated Chore Boy 2-1/2 HP (unrestored, original), missing ignitor 325
Cushman motor works 4 HP 160
Economy 3XK- has 3-hole flywheel 350
Economy 7 HP buzz saw unit 950
Fairbanks-Morse 1-1/2 HP Dishpan Z 225
Fairbanks-Morse Z (rough/parts engine) missing head, 1 flywheel 25
Sears Farmmaster hopper cooled, 325
Fuller and Johnson 9HP (restored)- 800
Fuller and Johnson light unit ????help????
Ideal (upright) 2.5 HP 250
LeRoi upright hopper cooled 125
McCormick-Deering 3 HP 350?
Midget upright unknown HP (rare) mfg. Rochester, NY 210
New Way 3-3-1/2 HP (unrestored but all there including shroud) 250
Pierson air cooled (radiator is IN the flywheel- unique) 225
unknown- hopper cooled enclosed crank (restored)- w/double belt grooves on one flywheel 150
Taylor Vacuum Engine, Type A, spark plug w/battery box/coil, modern carb 425
Witte 7HP (restored) 650
unknown- square tank, oval tag, tulip hopper lip, ignitor 425?
water pump with electric motor, large flywheel, pressure switch, 30
unknown- broken hopper lip (lost a chunk, but hopper unbolts) 125

Thanks for the prices Rick. I can't help you on the value though. I hear there was a couple of tractors there also. Did they go cheap?

I only remember hearing the bidding on one of them (not paying attention), it was a small-to-medium size tractor that they actually started up. I remember thinking to myself that it went for a reasonable price; it was less than $2k but I can't remember the price. They had an old impressive and rusty Allis Chalmers there.

I'd be interested if anybody remembers what the Fuller Johnson Light Plant went for; that was pretty interesting looking.

Prices seem lower than normal. Wish I'd have been there!
