Default general motors 6 cylinder

I would like to know possible sites where a person can gather information on the 1947 general motors powertrain. I have a 2 ton cab over engine model that needs some mechanical work in order to get it running. At present I need ignition information. Any help is appreciated. E-mail your responses to rob.nichols@sk.sympatico.ca

Thanks
