Myself and one other guy moved a 30 SK aprox. 75' across a wet yard with ease using iron pipe and 2x6 boards to roll it on.

A search on local craigslist site resulted in locating a cheap converted single place snow mobile tilting trailer. Hope to pick it up Friday after work. I will hoist the JB onto the trailer with the Cherry Picker, drag the Picker to the pad and then use my simplicity 16 hp to drag the trailer. The enclosure came from a staker in Michingan and appears to be for a newer style JB , but it fits nice. Will take photos and will have a couple of questions about open gaps and mouse proofing this weekend. Thanks everyone for feedback. The cost of the trailer would be less than my copays at the ER if I hurt my back or my helpers!

Moving a JB and enclosure is tricky with just one person! Got it on the trailer with the cherry picker, hooked up to tractor, set it on the pad and connected the muffler. I need to do some more work on muffler and mouse proofing around the sides. This is a Magneciter in a newer enclosure. What should I use to block the mice around the front side where the flywheel is?Click image for larger version

The previous owner was a real gardener and we bought the house last fall. So many plants growing this year that a couple will not be missed when the power goes out.

After the relocation, generator fired right up, produced power for 20 minutes with the gas oven on too. Went to start last night and it was popping but would not catch. Will have to remove cover and check it out next weekend.

Tried to start JB last weekend and would not fire up. Plenty of natural gas popped cover off points and I could see sparks jumping from points to engine. I had replaced condenser last year. Would bad condenser cause sparks or just a good cleaning of points in order? What is the metal switch to left of points in photo?

I don't know if I'm looking at your picture correctly but the contacts at the top of the photo are the ignition points. The contacts on the bottom are the start-disconnect points. When the engine comes up to speed those contacts close and pull in the ignition relay and also disconnect the starter. If I remember correctly, those should be gapped at .020

Makes sense. The points (white plastic) were sparking when I cranked it. I know that is not good and will clean them later this week.

So did you check further to see if you had good spark at the plugs?
From looking at your picture, do you have some engine oil infiltration into the points area?
Some sparking is normal with points and conventional ignition. If you do clean them use some real fine wet or dry like 400 or 600 grit. After dressing the points with abrasive paper, open the points by hand and clean the point contacts with Acetone, Lacquer thinner or electrical contact cleaner and wipe dry and clean with some cotton cloth like from an old T-shirt. Ideally, points are not flat but somewhat convex in their shape.
