Default MOPAR Powered 30SK set

Well, it was mentioned to start a MOPAR thread and recommended it be based on the MOPAR slant 6 engine as is what poweres the SK.

This thread has more pictures of the process of getting it hooked up:

I was wondering if I could mount the intake in the pictures to the slant 6 to give it more KW output or, quicker responce??

Still have my 68 Formula S fastback Barracuda car. Original 340 4 speed with 8-3/4 "Sure Grip". Had it since April 26, 1976 when original owner gave it to me the day I received my driver's license.

Don't see how one could use a V-8 intake manifold on an inline 6.
Many years ago I had a '74 AMC Hornet with a 232 cu. in. I-6. Changed out the crank & rods and turned it into their optional 258 cu. in. motor. Found an aluminum manifold from "Clifford 6=8" that would take a 4 BBL carb, but used a block-off plate and a big 2 BBL carb.
They offer a manifold for your slant six, but they ain't cheap....

I have owned a bunch of Chrysler products from '56 to '15. Still have a few.

Some day I will find a 71 Plymouth GTX/RR/Satellite I can afford. Best looking car they ever made.

Put an Offy 4 barrel intake and a 390 Holley on the SK.

I have owned the numbers matching pictured 1969 Dart Swinger 340 4-speed since 1980. I don't know how many previous owners. I also have another 69 340 Swinger that I have had since about 1976. In high school I also had a 69 340 Swinger, it succumbed to cancer from living in Ohio.

I've got a complete original Hyper Pak I've thought about using on my SK, I'll never use it on a vehicle. Also hanging onto an aluminum block out of a Feather Duster, can't remember where it even came from... In reality if I were to swap I'd probably go with a Super 6 2bbl set-up.

Ya wanna make AMC 6 cylinder power? 258 rods/crank in a HO 4.0 liter configuration. 86-90 258 4 weight crank, 2000-1 intake/exh, NON HO cam (87-90), HO block/head will net about 230 hp, a ton of torque and AWESOME driveability from idle to redline. Got a mint '84 Eagle SX-4 (AMC Spirit) to drop the above combo in plus a '94 Cherokee AW-4 4sp auto/NP242 t-case and stock computer/harness to round the package. I've built quite a few 4.5L strokers, always a hit. 3.10 first gear in the AW-4 helps too!

Agreed, I also own a '71 Sebring Plus, 451/auto Tic Toc tach and slapstick + more. Had it since '89, hands down my fave car. Was looking for a GTX, settled for this and couldn't be happier!

Can't count the number of Mopar cars I've had, bought, and sold through the years. Always liked the A bodies and 340 engine. The "X" heads and later "J" heads are getting a bit scarce these days which is why those engines ran so well. Had several 413's, 440's, built more than a few 451's, and a single 426 "Max Wedge" in a Dodge "660" which was very fast for the time.

My car is always been a midwest car so is a bit rusty but I quit driving it at 340,340 miles to pull it down for rebuild. Never apart prior except for water pumps, timing chain, fuel pump, etc. Always kept the oil changed at 5K intervals and run the piss out of it when younger. The cam bearings were down to the copper as the babbit lining was worn away, seven of eight pistons had broken rings, and the thrust surface on the forged crankshaft was worn severely. The crank would walk almost 1/4" fore an aft in the block when pried with a bar.

I found a pair of NOS fenders at a Mopar Nationals show in 1996, a very clean set of door shells at another show in 1998, a complete reproduction interior kit from "Legendary Interiors" in 1999 and a set of NOS 340 engine callout chrome hood inserts along the way. Never did purchase reproduction rubber gaskets and seals but understand Metro Molded Rubber Products now produces them for the fastback cars.

Mine was purchased new in St. Louis by the neighbor across the street when he came back from "across the pond" so I've basically known the car since new. Never have liked the "Ember Gold" color w/lower door black stripping but it's original so never changed it. Now thinking about it, I need to get the woodgrain steering wheel rebuilt. Mine has the barracuda fish in the center cap.

My first "car" was a 1963 Dodge 1/2 ton with a 225 slant 6 under the bent up hood. I do not think it had a straight piece of sheet metal on it.

Cost: $25 & a jug of wine. Took about $150 to get it running inc. turning the crank, rings and all the other little goodies.

Those were the days.

A little machine work and they might fit but would be a little over carburetored. Are they both 66 carbs and would you sell them?

I've definitely owned many Mopars over the last 45 years.. We currently have 3, 1992 Ram W350, 1993 Ram D350 and a 1998 Ram Quad cab (wife's hot rod). all are Cummins powered.

I had a 63 Impala convertible with a 283 a power glide automatic trans. I got for $50.00 The guy I bought it from thought the motor was frozen, It was a bad starter. I had a buddy who had a 65 or 64 SS I took all his parts and put it in my 63 I converted it to a 3 speed manual. Never did get the linkage right on it. Had to be careful not to shift into reverse. I put fuely (sp) heads and a Holley high rise with 750 double pumper. I remember picking a bunch of parts at Warshawskies (sp) and driving the the car to school the next day. The muffler fell off and I had a secondary exhaust leak let off on the gas when going by a cop to hide the noise and it backfired and the cop turned around pulled me over and gave me 7 tickets.

Wish I had that car today.

MOPAR. Most original parts are rusted
MOPAR. My other Plymouth ain't running.

I had a 63 Polara with the olivetti transmission. Horribly designed vehicle with 10" brakes and a useless heater. I did put 100,000 miles on that $50 car though.
I do miss my 48 Power Wagon.

I can't remember of they are 1966 or 1967 carbs. In my basement I have a 1966 426 engine that I bought in 1980 that was rebuilt but never started, I pulled it apart a long time ago and it's still sitting there, since then I have acquired a 1966 Coronet (needs rear quarters amd paint) bought a new AlterKation complete front "A" frame suspension,

I did have a WS23J7 67 RT HEMI, Story of another kind though. I believe the guy I sold it to had to use at least another car or two to restore it, When it was completed it was a BEAUTIFUL car though. A White Hat Special.
