Default Generator junk yard

A fellow out of Leander Tx had Nhm , Bgm , Bfa and several other generators he's been pulling parts off of for yrs , so he called me and ask if I wanted them and I said yes. Most of the good parts are gone but the bfa has some good parts. As we were loading he started getting rid of better stuff he gave me a load bank and a old electric welder. We had a good visit and we looked like Fred Sanford on the toll roads in Austin Tx.

Kpack, you now had that load bank for about 24 hours and must be getting bored with it by now, right? Please promptly send the load bank to me and I'll watch it for you for the next 25 years.

After a 3 or 4 day utility outage, that attitude will improve.

Hi, Get yourself a few 10kw heat strips out of heat pump air handlers. They make a great and easy load bank. I use them to load and set output. A clamp on amp meter and volt meter will tell you what you need to know. CK

Thanks CK. I ran out of "Thanks" buttons for the day since the button no longer appears for any of the threads on this site. FWIW: I've been using electric stove top elements that I salvage from the appliance pile at our local town dump for free.

I've got a 10 kw hanging 440 V box heater that I rewired to 6kw 240 v , was going to my heat garage.
But easier to use a few hairdriers to get me to 7kw.
