Default NAMES Expo 2018

Everything is moving along, I-75 is still a mess from Detroit south to around the exit area.

Make sure any one coming to the show check with the MDOT web site for construction added to more roads this spring. Since the state coughed up some extra money, the barrels are sprouting up all over.

It has been about 20 years since I attended a NAMES show. At that time, the Yack Arena was pretty much full of displays. I am hearing that the event has gotten smaller? Just wondering how much I'll see if I venture over there.

Can anyone give me an idea just how big the show still is, based on last year's show?

Thanx !

Pete

It generally depends on the weather, etc. As the people into model building age the number that is able to display is getting smaller, and due to health issues that make driving difficult at night some leave early on Sunday so it thins out early. There will be a full selection of vendors. They have redone the Yack since you were there lat and the layout has gotten better. Set up is still on Friday for the exhibitors, and show goers are not allowed. If you plan on a day trip I would suggest coming on Saturday.
If you do come check the DOT web site for construction and closures http://www.michigan.gov/mdot/0,4616,...7654--,00.html

For those that are coming to the show next weekend. The weather is supposed to be better, no freezing rain like today and in the low to mid 50's and clear. And be sure to check the MDOT site for changes in construction status of the freeways as it some times seems it changes by the hour or at least daily. https://mdotnetpublic.state.mi.us/drive/
