Default Witte, John Deere, Farmall, Dick Cummings Collection Auction

We are in the beginning stages of preparation for a HUGE Auction this summer. Dick Cummings has been collecting Antique Tractors, Hit and Miss Engines, and Antique Farm Equipment for almost 40 years. His collection includes everything from completely restored beauties to thousands of hard to find parts. The auction will include over 40 Hit and Miss Engines including a Witte 25 hp Hopper Cooled, Bull Dog 4 hp, John Deere 6hp, 3hp and 1 1/2 hp plus others. The list of parts that he has collected will take us months to compile! He will also be auctioning off his beloved 1953 Farmall Super C on stilts. This tractor always draws a lot of attention....and the swing is really comfortable too! Antique Equipment will include everything from Road Graders to Buzz saws. We are currently in the process of interviewing Auction Companies and I will keep updating this post as more information is known. The auction will take place in Almont, Michigan. Many people have been asking if Dick will be auctioning his one of a kind, 1937 Ford Experimental Tractor. The answer is no. That tractor is not for sale at any price.

If anyone knows some good Auction Companies that work in Michigan, I am looking for some to talk to. Thanks. Also added some pictures of a couple of things we have hanging around the shop. Might add that I just found a brand new in the box 1947 Briggs and Stratton engine that will be included in the auction. It has never been fired!

The Pictures are 1953 Farmall C on Stilts, Economy 12HP, Economy 1 3/4 HP, and a Witte 25hp hopper cooled. The Witte is a complete running engine, we just have the flywheel removed because it would not fit in our shop with it attached! We also have a Fairbanks Bull Dog 4 hp in the shop that will be in the auction. If you are even in the Rochester Hills area, feel free to stop in and check them out.

First person I would talk to is Kurt Aumann, of Aumann Auctions. They have an great knowledge of old engines and tractors. Link to there website is below. Kurt is a sponsor and frequent poster on these forums.

Some great options above and I've heard tell that Dan Mecum (Mecum Auctions) is going to be doing onsite sales like this going forward too....

I wanted to take a second and Thank everyone for the great advice on the Auction Companies. I have been in contact with Kurt Aumann and Steven Stanton as well as a local Auctioneer, Brian Rowley. I have sent messages to Polk, Mecum and Nixon Auctions as well, but have not heard back from them yet. They all seem to really be on top of things and certainly have great knowledge of antique farm equipment. Thanks again for all your help, I certainly appreciate it.

We have been busy meeting with Auctioneers. The stories always fly and I end up forgetting that I am selling and not looking to buy! The main thing that has come out of these meetings is that I have far too much stuff to be ready for a Fall 2016 Sale. We have settled on a June 2017 Sale and will finalize the exact dates in the next couple weeks. As we start moving everything out to the Farm, I will post pictures and keep a running list going of the Engines, Tractors, Farm Steel, Magnetos, Oilers and other parts that will be in the auction. I have always collected unique items. If no one else had one.....I wanted it and usually got it. This should be a great sale/event to celebrate my almost 50 years of collecting. I'm thinking that a BBQ get together the night before might be a fun thing to add to the 2 day sale! Thanks everyone for your interest.
