Well.........

Yes if you have 200 amp service to your house you should have a 200 amp switch.

The Onan air cooled gensets are 3 wire start and all of the Automatic Switches sold today are all 2 wire start. In short, it won't work properly. Can be modified to work.

I have a 12.5 DJC supplying power to my house theough a 200 amp Kohler ATS. I changed out the Onan controler to an ECU, works great.

Yes--they have switches in the 200 amp range in their residential line up--the newest ones offer SE (service entrance breaker) as an option inside the cabinet.

The OTEC is probably the most economical commercial model available from them--225 amp being the closest size. OTEC-series is a really good switch, as it uses the OT III transfer mechanisms that have been around for many years now. The little blackbox controller that operates it is easy to program.

Just keep in mind a JC will not carry 200 amps.

Eric:
What is Onan doing for a 3 wire start now days? They used to make a converter box but last I heard, they discontinued them.

Gunny/Billy,

I had someone do some checking for me a while back, and found there were 15 at the factory.

They have ( 8 ) of 300-2860-01 and ( 7 ) of 300-2860-03.

Read $$$.$$

I suspect once these are gone, they are indeed gone. I had drawn up a design for a 2-3 wire convertor recently, that was strictly low (DC) voltage. Unfortunately, didn't make the next back up before the laptop crashed last week. I can draw it up again, if anyone is interested. (to keep the J-series folks 100% original when desired.)

I like the ECU conversion, Gunny. Simple and reliable.

Yes, Yes, Very interested, that way I can get rid of my LTEU60-3/7341F # F790427150 (Perhaps someone might be interested in this unit ) and upgrade to a 200 amp switch myself.

The question now would be,.... Which switch would be recommended for this upgrade?

Right now I have a 12.5 DJC powering my house through a manual 200 amp switch between the meter and the service disconnect.

Thanks:
